Daly International has been selected by Nokia Solutions Networks to deliver 1,100 sites for ‘Project Darwin’ — one of Europe’s biggest decommissioning projects.
Daly International will provide acquisition, planning and design services to Nokia Solutions and Networks for 1,100 sites in the north of England and Scotland. The project will focus on network integration in low capacity areas — the smaller towns and cities across the United Kingdom.
The project spans MBNL, ex Orange UK and ex T-Mobile sites and focuses on turning single tech 2G or 3G sites to dual tech 2G and 3G, as well as adding LTE (4G).
All sites will have L1800MHz and some will also need L800MHz or L2600MHz.
Darwin also provides H3G’s enabling requirements for 3G and LTE.
“This is an exciting project win for Daly International,” said UK Managing Director, Phil Turner.
“It further cements our place as a leading supplier of telecommunications infrastructure delivery services in the United Kingdom.”
The total project duration is just over two years, and the acquisition, planning and design phase is to be completed within 18 months.
